Married Men With Children Have More Life Insurance Coverage Than Women

A study by MetLife insurance group that polled married men and women with children under the age of 18 showed that on average, men who have young children have life insurance policies that cover them for five times their yearly household income. Whereas women who have minor children are insured on average up to three times the household income. For some insurance experts, it concerned them that women didn’t have as much coverage as men.

FEMA, East Coast States Ready for Earl

As Hurricane Earl prepares to approach North Carolina tonight, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) says it is preparing for the storm and supporting state and local officials along the East Coast as they work to protect their communities.

FEMA strongly encourages all East Coast residents to take steps now to prepare for severe weather in the coming days.

Governors in North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland and Massachusetts have declared states of emergency.

US Expected to Open Travel to Cuba

The United States embargo on Cuba in the 1960’s restricted any transaction by U.S. citizens with Cuba unless individuals obtained a license from the United State Department of the Treasury. This regulation, known as the Cuban Assets Control Regulations, limits travel since tourists cannot be issued a license and thus are prohibited from any transaction with the island.

 

About fifty years later, there may be change on the horizon – will the U.S. open the doors to travel in Cuba?

Foremost Insurance Group announced it has re-branded Bristol West Auto Insurance to the Foremost brand to support the company’s market strategy.

Both Foremost and Bristol West were acquired by Farmers Insurance Group — Foremost in 2000 and Bristol West in 2007.
